Plant Registration Information and
Judging |
This
show is open to all who wish to exhibit or
have their orchids judged. Nonmembers as well as SBOS
members may enter plants. The plants may be
entered for ribbon judging, AOS judging, or CSA judging.

All plants
entered will be subject to the Rules and Regulations
of the South Bay Orchid Society as stated below.

Rules
- This show is open to all who wish to exhibit their
orchids. Plants may be entered in
one classification only. NO CROSS FILING. To
be eligible for judging, a plant must have
been grown by the exhibitor for 120 days prior
to the show. Other plants may
be entered for “exhibit only”.
- Entries
will be received at the South Coast
Botanic Gardens in the Auditorium on Friday, March
2nd, 2007.
- Each exhibitor agrees upon making entries,
to abide by the rules and regulations of the
show.
- The Show Committee reserves the right
to refuse entry of any plant or flower thought
to be diseased or infested.
- No entries or ribbons
may be removed until 5:00pm on Sunday, September
24th.
- Entries not removed by 5:30pm Sunday night
will be removed by the Show Committee. Any plants
not claimed in ten days will be disposed of by
the Committee.
- Every precaution will
be taken by the Show Committee to protect the property
of the exhibitors. The
South Bay Orchid Society, South Coast Botanic Gardens
and the Show Committee will not be responsible
for loss or damage to plants or materials.
- Staging and
tables will be furnished by the Show Committee.
All other materials must be furnished by the exhibitor
and must be flameproof.

Judging
- Judging will commence
at 9:00am on Saturday, September 23th and must
be completed by 12:00 noon. No
one other than Judges and clerks are allowed
in the Showroom during judging.
- The competitive
system of judging will be used for awards. First,
Second, and Third place ribbons will be awarded in each
group. If without merit, Judges will make no award. Trophies
will be awarded for each class if warranted. No
Judge may judge his/her own plant.
- All entries checked
in by officials of the show will be entered for competitive
judging unless otherwise stated on the entry form. All
plants must be labeled with the name or cross in
order to be judged. Unlabeled
plants may be entered for “exhibit only”.
